It is time to tell your application that you will be using โGithubโ as your authentication provider. Please open the /src/server/auth.ts file. At the top of the file please add two following lines:
import GitHubProvider from "next-auth/providers/github";
import { env } from "~/env";
Then, we have to add this provider to the list of providers. find the โprovidersโ key in your authOptions and add the following setup code (or just search for โโฆadd providers hereโ):
providers: [
/**
* ...add providers here.
*
* Most other providers require a bit more work than the Discord provider. For example, the
* GitHub provider requires you to add the `refresh_token_expires_in` field to the Account
* model. Refer to the NextAuth.js docs for the provider you want to use. Example:
*
* @see https://next-auth.js.org/providers/github
*/
GitHubProvider({
clientId: env.GITHUB_CLIENT_ID,
clientSecret: env.GITHUB_CLIENT_SECRET
})
]
And done! You just saved yourself about a month of work and a lot of headache!
This open as new window with a big โGithubโ button in the centre. Click on it!
