To decide on team lead and secretary, I think it makes sense for everyone to nominate someone (and they can nominate themselves) for each position, and then we can hold a vote if there is any disagreement.

Once we have decided on the team lead, I think it makes sense for them to contact the client now to try and organise a time, and in the meantime we can try to come up with an agenda for the client meeting before the next club meeting.

This first section of the course looks good. Gives good detailed instructions to get everything up and running without getting too into the weeds.
The assignment is very basic, but I think it is ok for a first assignment to just get everyone familiar with submission process. I hope that the assignments won't hold our hands too much in the future (although optional hints would be a good idea so people can still progress if they get stuck on something).
Either is fine. The most important thing imo is that there are activities that accompany the tutorials that force me to use what I've learned.
